Worship
We focus our attention on God through singing, Scripture, reflection and space to respond in prayer.
Elim Pentecostal Church Sunderland
We are a local church family seeking to follow Jesus, welcome people, serve our community, and make room for the work of the Holy Spirit in everyday life.
Come as you are. You don’t need to know what to do, what to wear, or what to say. We’ll help you feel at home.

Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a big step. At Sunderland Elim, you’ll find a friendly welcome, worship, Bible teaching, and ordinary people learning to follow Jesus together.
We meet every Sunday at 11:00am on Durham Road. Our service usually lasts just over an hour. Children are welcome in the service, and Children’s Church is available for primary school age children.
Part of Elim
Sunderland Elim is part of the Elim Pentecostal Church, a movement of more than 550 Christian congregations across the UK and Ireland.
Elim was founded in 1915 and continues to serve local communities through churches committed to worship, mission, discipleship, compassion and Spirit-filled Christian life.
As an Elim church, we share Elim’s Foundational Truths — a statement of faith that expresses our core Christian beliefs and shapes our worship, mission and ministry.

Our Sunday service is the main moment each week where we gather as a church family for worship, teaching from the Bible, and encouragement.
We focus our attention on God through singing, Scripture, reflection and space to respond in prayer.
We open Scripture and seek to understand how God’s word shapes our lives today.
Sunday is an opportunity to meet with other Christians, build community and encourage one another in faith.
Church life
Alongside Sundays, there are different ways to receive support, build community, pray, serve, and grow in faith.

We meet online on Zoom every Tuesday evening from 8:00pm to 9:00pm.
Our youth group meets every other Friday from 7:30pm to 9:00pm for young people from the start of secondary school up to 18.
